When many film professionals think of intimacy coordinators…they usually don’t know what to think! It feels like a taboo topic, a role only needed for the most scandalous scenes, most taut dynamics in Hollywood…but that is simply not the case!
For “Where’s the Heart?”, a UVU Capstone project for Alex Cueva, I was brought on to promote safety and comfort for actors in romance heavy scenes. This is a great call made by the director, as an intimacy coordinator is a storyteller much like any specialty choreographer or consultant. I love finding new ways to help actors build chemistry with each other in a comfort focused environment!
