Tried and true “California Girl” Sydney Claire Olson has performed across the nation and internationally, working predominantly in film, musical theatre, and classical text. Ever since three-year-old Shirley Temple-esque Sydney refused to leave the stage during bows of her first dance recital, her loved ones knew: she was meant to create and shine.

She has since gained 16+ years of vocal and acting training, and graduated with a BFA in Acting from BYU, where she received a comprehensive education in acting technique, including mask work, classical, Absurdism, American Realism, dialects, voiceover, and stage combat, which she was fortunate to teach for two semesters.

Sydney spent this past summer with the Prague Shakespeare Company in the Czech Republic as Isabella in Measure for Measure, working alongside prolific acting instructors from around the globe. Recent and beloved credits include Veronica – Heathers (Mad King Productions), Hermia – A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Renaissance Now), Alice Murphy – Bright Star (BYU MDT Seminar), Charlotte – The Cherry Orchard (BYU), Florinda – Into the Woods (West Valley Arts), Lana – Blossom (UVU Filmmakers) and Janey – The Fork (Hive Collaborative). She is currently in production leading the feature film Colors as Faye, coming in 2026.

Sydney has also developed a love for the other side of performing art and has worked several projects as a stunt coordinator, intimacy director, and theatre technician. Armed with her well-worn copy of The Complete Works of Jane Austen and a matcha lemon spritz, Sydney plans to spend the rest of her life in pursuit of her art, using performance to better the lives of the people surrounding her.
