Twelfth Night

Performing as Viola/Cesario in Twelfth Night for Outlawed Shakespeare Company was one of the great unexpected pleasures of my year! I have always wanted to tackle the text of Twelfth Night, I’ve had the opportunity to play as Viola-esque roles so many times in the past, but never gotten to do the actual Shakespeare. I love this play, it is truly one of my favorites.

We set Twelfth Night in the wild west, which was such a fun, unexpected choice for me! The process of casting for this role was quite wild…I ended up doing my initial read/callback at the ten minute call to a performance of The Fork. I read the Act II Scene I soliloquy for casting over FaceTime… and by the five minute mark for the show, I had received another call saying I had gotten the role. I was so pleased to be so accepted by this casting/production team, and I loved working with the cast.

Favorite line: “Fortune forbid my outside have not charmed her!”
