Even though I have quite extensive experience in the stunt/stage combat world (being certified in six different weapon types by Dueling Arts International and having taught at the University level for a year), I find that my casting doesn’t usually shake out with me as the “fighter” but rather the “damsel”. And listen, I love it! But it’s also fun to shake things up…
Meet Edith, an intimidating, muscly street fighter in an underground cyber punk fight ring. She takes hits and breaks bones like it’s nothing. And she was THE MOST FUN! Opposite my great friend Livvy Wilkinson, and directed by Campeon Ramirez, this project took so much of my previous experience in a way that was so gratifying for me to perform!
Fun behind the scenes fact: in the final scene of the piece, you are seeing my genuine post-surgery nose cast! I had major sinus surgery because of breathing complications following the shoot (two days after fake breaking my nose on screen to be exact)…but luckily it worked for the character! I am on soooooo many pain killers in that shot, and it was so worth it.
